Colorado Fall Colors and Ghost Towns Photo Workshop
Lerro Photography Presents:
Colorado Fall Colors and Ghost Towns
October 3-6, 2023
Ridgway, CO
Join Pete Lerro and Lerro Photography to experience and photograph the spectacular fall foliage and beautiful mountains of Colorado. The bright golden aspen trees and the snow-capped San Juan Mountains make for a brilliant backdrop that can be captured and enjoyed for years.
During our photography workshop, we’ll spend four days visiting some of the most beautiful areas of western Colorado, such as the Dallas Divide, Silverton, Kebler Pass, Telluride, and Mt. Sneffels. We will also visit historic ghost towns and check out the local ranch culture, all while surrounded by the spectacular fall colors in places like Wilson Peak, Owl Creek Pass, and Ironton.
The goal of our trip is for participants to learn how to photograph these magnificent scenes under several different lighting situations, including sunrise and sunset, backlighting, and nighttime photography. Photo critiques and post-processing techniques will be conducted via Zoom several weeks after the photo workshop.
Trip Itinerary:
Day 1 – Red Mountain Pass, Silverton, Yankee Girl Mine
Day 2 – Kebler Pass
Day 3 – Dallas Divide

Hotels, meals, and transportation are not included in the ticket price. Our trip will be based out of Ridgway, CO. I recommend finding a hotel in town. Below is a link to the Ridgway Lodge & Suites. I have stayed there before, and they have good service. http://www.
It would be best to have transportation or carpool with others in the group. If you choose to drive, you must have a 4×4 or AWD SUV and be willing to drive on unpaved back roads. The majority of our shooting locations are within 50 miles of Ridgway, but you must be ready to drive within 100 miles of Ridgway at least once or twice. Because of the nature of this trip, you will need to be awake at different times of the day and night if you want to participate in both the day and night shoots.
