Colorado Fall Foliage & Ghost Towns Photo Workshop
Colorado Fall Colors and Ghost Towns Photo Workshop
Lerro Photography Presents:
Colorado Fall Colors and Ghost Towns
October 3-6, 2023
Join Lerro Photography to experience and photograph the spectacular fall foliage and beautiful mountains of Colorado. The bright golden aspen trees and the snow-capped San Juan Mountains make for a brilliant backdrop that can be captured and enjoyed for years to come.
During our photography workshop, we’ll spend four days visiting some of the most beautiful areas of western Colorado, such as the Dallas Divide, Silverton, Kebler Pass, Telluride, and Mt. Sneffels. We will also visit historic ghost towns and check out the local ranch culture, all while surrounded by the spectacular fall colors in places like Wilson Peak, Owl Creek Pass, and Ironton.
The goal of our trip is for participants to learn how to photograph these magnificent scenes under several different lighting situations including sunrise and sunset, backlighting, and nighttime photography. Photo critiques and post-processing techniques will be conducted via Zoom several weeks after the photo workshop.
Day 1 – Red Mountain Pass, Silverton, Yankee Girl Mine
Day 2 – Kebler Pass
Day 3 – Dallas Divide
Day 4 – Dallas Divide

All of our photo locations will be at high altitudes, ranging from 7,000-11,000 feet in elevation. Please be prepared if you have any altitude illnesses or changes. Our shooting times will range from before sunrise through mid-morning, and mid-afternoon through sunset as well as the first couple hours at night. Getting rest during the day or whenever possible will be important as we are up early and late to bed.

Hotels, meals, and transportation are not included in the ticket price. Our trip will be based out of Ridgway, CO. I recommend finding a hotel in town. Below is a link to the Ridgway Lodge & Suites. I have stayed there before and they have good service. http://www.
You must have transportation or carpool with others in the group. If you choose to drive you must have a 4×4 or AWD SUV and be willing to drive on unpaved back roads. The majority of our shooting locations are within 50 miles of Ridgway but you must be willing to drive within 100 miles of Ridgway at least once or twice. Because of the nature of this trip, you will need to be awake at different times of the day and night if you want to participate in both the day and night shoots.
