In August 2019, Lerro Productions was hired to run the night session during the “Thunder Over Michigan” airshow near Detroit, Michigan. During the night session, we lit up a P-51 Mustang, a F4U Corsair and a B-25 Mitchell. Each plane was lit individually and ran it’s engine(s) for five minutes. An airport firetruck also sprayed water in front of each plane before the engines were started. Click on the images below to enlarge

The USS New Jersey (BB-62) is an Iowa-class battleship that features 9 x 16 inch guns and is 887 feet long. She served in WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and other engagements in the 1980s. In 1991, the New Jersey was decommissioned and became a museum in 2001. Lerro Productions sponsored a WWII era reenactment photo shoot on the USS New Jersey in August 2018 and featured two separate shoots. Quebec Lighthouses 2017
A small group of us traveled to Quebec to photograph lighthouses along the St. Lawrence river. We started off on the north shore with a hike to Cap au Saumon Lighthouse. We then traveled to Pointe des Monts Lighthouse for sunset and sunrise shots. On the 2nd day, we photographed Bon Desir Light and then took the ferry across the St Lawrence so we could make it to Cap Chat Lighthouse where we were able to light the fresnel lens for sunset, night and sunrise shots. We then took a boat ride to Pot à l’Eau-de-Vie [Brandy Pot] Lighthouse. To… [Read More]
Scouting for WWII Reenactments
Lerro Productions has been expanding the themed and reenactment photo shoots to include the WWII era. This includes the Rosie the Riveter and the military ground and air shoots. In order to find more reenactors, I’ve been attending large WWII events that draw in thousands of reenactors from across the country. In the process of attending these events, I become friends with many of the reenactors and have actually participated in a couple of the events at a “WWII War Correspondence” photographer. In the future, we hope to offer a variety of WWII military type photo shoots. Below are photos… [Read More]
Monument Valley 2017 Photo Workshop Recap
Monument Valley is one of the most unique and photographed locations on Earth. The Navajo Nation preserves the Navajo way of life and helps keep the most striking and recognizable landscape of sandstone buttes, mesas and spires in the entire Southwest from destruction. The majestic buttes and red sandstone colors portray an unearthly appearance and have been featured in dozens of movies. Lerro Productions organized a photo tour in April 2017 that featured a mixture of both landscape and portrait opportunities. During our trip, we had the fantastic opportunity to spend three nights in a hogan, which is in the… [Read More]
Grand Canyon Railway 2017 Recap
In the summer of 2016, the Grand Canyon Railway brought its 2-8-0 #29 back into operational condition to help celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service. Lerro Productions sponsored a charter in February 2017 that featured both the #29 and 2-8-2 #4960. The first day of our charter featured the GCR #29 by itself; even though its a 2-8-0, it put on a heck of a show for our group. With the weather being overcast, we made the best of the conditions by hitting a lot of locations we wouldn’t be able to shoot on a sunny winter… [Read More]

B-17 Photo Shoot Review
The Boeing B-17, nicknamed the “Flying Fortress”, is a four-engine heavy bomber aircraft developed in the 1930′s for the United States Air Force. During its production, 12,732 B-17s were built and of these, 4,735 were lost in combat. For our photo shoot, we photographed the B-17 “Yankee Lady” with a number of reenactors from local and regional groups to help portray a number of WWII era scenes. For the first hour or so, we had three gals dressed as Rosie the Riveter. Two of the gals, Alaina and Devin, have been seen at previous photo shoots in Owosso. The third gal,… [Read More]
Reading & Northern #425 Charter Review
On February 15-16, 2016, Lerro Productions sponsored a photo charter at the Reading & Northern Railroad. The R&N #425 is a 1928 Baldwin built 4-6-2 light “Pacific” originally built for the Gulf, Mobile & Northern. The engine later became Gulf, Mobile & Ohio 580 and would eventually be retired in 1950. Over the next three decades, several different people would own the engine; in 1983, it was bought by the Blue Mountain & Reading and has routinely pulled excursions throughout eastern Pennsylvania ever since. Over the last 20 years, R&N #425 has had several different paint schemes, ranging from all… [Read More]
Rosie the Riveter Shoot – November 2015
Heres a few shots from the 2nd Rosie the Riveter photo shoot. This shoot was not a publicized event. I wanted to try out different shots to see how it could work for a future public shoot. During this shoot, we shut off all the regular shop lights and allowed the sparks and hot rivets light up our actresses. I also used a little fill flash to help emphasize the contrast in tones and colors of the blue clothing.
