Yankee Rosie Photo Shoot 2019
Yankee Air Museum
January 15, 2019
During World War II, American women entered the workforce in unprecedented numbers as widespread male enlistment left gaping holes in the industrial labor force. By 1945 nearly one out of every four married women worked outside the home. The “Rosie the Riveter,” poster campaign became one of the most iconic image of working women during the war.
Join Lerro Productions as we put on photo shoots that portray the hard working women of WWII in an aircraft factory type settings. During the shoots, we’ll have a number of reenactors dressed in authentic factory attire and will pose for pictures around the aircraft and machinery. In the hanger, we can pose the girls around the B-17 and B-25. These bombers will have parts removed for regular winter maintenance so it will work in our favor to allow the reenactors to pose with the open parts like they are building the planes. In the museum area, there is an unfinished B-24 fuselage and motors which we can also pose the reenactors with.
There will be a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning session will be shot entirely in the hanger with the b-17 and b-25 bombers. The afternoon session will feature scenes in the hanger as well as the museum area with the b-24 fuselage. Please note that the museum area with the b-24 fuselage will be shot in the afternoon session.
